Title: A Review on synergetic and Hormetic action of Swertia Chirata from Homoeopathic Perspective
Authors: Sankar, Suman.A.S
Abstract: One of the traditional herbs, which provide potent therapeutic beneficiary action for the mankind, is Swertia chirata. It contains organically active compounds and leads chemical constituents, which support in the healing processand in turn abates the unnecessary therapeutic aids. The methods of administration varies to the therapeutic benefit being practiced, apart from this an immediate attention is necessary for the homeopathic mode of medicine preparation, where the synergistic and hermetic principles are followed in the dynamicity principle of homeopathy, where the medicine is being made more potent and the total synergistic action is being preserved toxic free. The review is to provide evidence based knowledge on the synergistic action, as well as dynamic action of swertia chirata from a homeopathic perspective
Description: Among the many drugs prevailing, Swertia chirata demands special attention in its synergistic application in human health. The studies so far has given enough evidence, to bring forth the biological action of Swertia chirata, these definitely points towards the new lead molecules for the further development of this traditional drug, having welfare motive biological activities.

Title: Urinary odour as the Yard stick for suggesting suitable Homoeopathic prescriptions : A review and guide for future Research
Authors: Sankar, Suman.A.S
Abstract: Observations of urine odour have reflective value in homoeopathic treatment, as they act as therapeutic indications for the assortment of a remedy. Urine naturally has an odour but the abnormal odour in most of the cases denotes a deviation from
health. Information regarding the bacteria in the human urine is responsible for urinary tract infection (UTI), the pathogens which produces their corresponding volatile organic compounds (VOCs), that leads to abnormal urine odour is evident
with recent researches. Artificial olfaction based on gas sensors and e-nose technologies also have considerable impact in identification of UTI. This article analyses the possibilities of these technological developments for finding the homoeopathic simillimum by matching the odor in samples by analyzing the volatile organic compounds with urinary odor observations on homoeopathic drug profiles.

Homoeopathic perspective of environmental factors in stone diseases: a mini review

Title: Homoeopathic perspective of environmental factors in stone diseases: a mini review
Authors: Sankar, Suman.A.S
Abstract: Homeopathy is based on the claim that illnesses can be treated using substances that produce similar symptoms. Mostly, these have been heavily diluted in water or alcohol so that none or only a few molecules of the active ingredient are present. Kidney stone disease is a crystal concretion formed usually within the kidneys. It is an increasing urological disorder of human health, affecting about 12% of the world population. It has been associated with an increased risk of end-stage renal failure. The etiology of kidney stone is multifactorial. The most common type of kidney stone is calcium oxalate formed at Randall's plaque on the renal papillary surfaces. The mechanism of stone formation is a complex process which results from several physicochemical events including supersaturation, nucleation, growth, aggregation, and retention of urinary stone constituents within tubular cells. These steps are modulated by an imbalance between factors that promote or inhibit urinary crystallization.
Description: This article is an endeavor to explain its adequacy dependent on later methodical surveys on kidney stones. Electronic databases were looked for orderly audits/investigation regarding the matter. Fortyone articles satisfied the consideration/rejection criteria. It is concluded that the best environmental clinical evidence for homeopathic medicines available up to date and permit positive endorsements for its use in clinical practice.

Sanguinaria Canadensis – A probable Homoeopathic Medicine for severe viral respiratory illness.

Title: Sanguinaria Canadensis – A probable Homoeopathic Medicine for severe viral respiratory illness.
Authors: Sankar, Suman.A.S; Mohan, C.K; Sugathan, N.V; Gopukumar.S.T
Abstract: Viral infections affect respiratory tract commonly, Most of the infections are mild and in some it would be severe with direct or indirect complications. Homoeopathic medicines are extensively used to treat influenza since long time. Several of those medicines have been possess anti-viral properties in ultra-diluted doses. Similarity in the pharmacodynamic properties and patient signs are the basis of Homoeopathic treatment. The curing property of these drugs is based on its disease causing property. Sanguinaria canadensis is one such important medicine used in Homoeopathy to treat influenza and its complications, both individually as well as in combination preparations. The signs and symptoms of most of the severe viral respiratory infections are similar to that of the drug proving observations on Sangunaria canadensis. The Sangunaraia respiratory symptoms are observed along with gastric and cardiac symptoms. The symptoms observed and recorded in Homoeopathic repertories are very similar to that of influenza like illness ranging from mild to severe respiratory illnesses.
Description: The Homoeopathic drug proving observations on Sanguinaria canadensis and the evidence from literature on phytochemical action of Sanguinaria canadensis by modern methods suggest this medicine as one of the choice for treatment of severe viral respiratory illnesses. The drug could be further studied for its possibilities in managing and preventing complications of severe viral acute respiratory syndromes
