Abstract: | This study was conducted to assess the evitable prenatal risk factors namely nutritional deficiency, mental and emotional stress and use of antidepressants and antihypertensives ; and their impact on pregnant women who had later given birth to children with learning problems. A total of 30 cases were selected randomly from the Learning Disability OPD of SKHMC, already diagnosed with learning problems. Later a consent form for willingness to participate in the study and questionnaire to collect the prenatal history was distributed and the results were evaluated. From the results and observations it was observed that emotional stress faced by mother and hyperemesis gravidarum had a positive link among the results obtained and the proposed risk factors emotional stress is responsible for increase in serum cortisol and HG is also responsible for the same this might be responsible for the learning problems in later life. |
