Abstract: | Spirulina platensis is a symbiotic, single celled, filamentous blue green algae; rich in micro and macro nutrients.Botanists term it as micro algae, while microbiologists prefer the term Cyanobacterium. It is used as a complementary dietary ingredient not only in humans but also, as a feed for fish ,shrimp and poultry as well as proteins and vitamin supplements for aquafeeds. It is also known to increases the CD4 cells count and strengthens immune system. Hence it is called as poorman’s HAART (Highly Active Anti Retroviral Therapy). It contains more iron than spinach, 10 times more Beta carotene than carrots, 31 times more phytonutrients than blue berries and it is 700times more potent in antioxidants than apples. It has an excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-aging property. NASA has found that spirulina had 60 times more absolute iron content than conventional iron capsules which were used by space travellers .It is also has 18 of 22 amino acids that the body needs and this nutrient digest easily. It also enhances the Hb level in blood. Hence NASA announced that spirulina was the best space food.[16]These are the evidences that suggests the reason for the increased demand and hype around spirulina .”For WHO it is an interesting food because it has rich iron, protein and is able to administer children even without any risk. Hence WHO consider it a very suitable food.”Normal in-vitro growth of spirulina needs Magnesium for its photosynthesis, MgSo4for its growth, multiplication (by binary fission) and for lipid production, Phosphorus for its photosynthesis, enzyme synthesis and enzyme transport. Selenium increases the proteins ,lipids and polysaccharides.Spirulina strains cultured with high NaCl content in modified Zarrouk medium have shown higher nutrition values. This study aims to exclude these nutrients individually in the crude form and instead administer the chemicals in the homeopathically potentised form in various potencies. This study will be conduct in the standard RM6 medium with suitable substitutions and modification based on the need of the study. The ultimate aim of this research is to compare the quantitative and qualitative analysis of Spirulina grown with the help of homoeopathic preparations to the standard culture media.and to compare the effectiveness among the different homoeopathic preparations such as Magnesium Sulphuricum, Magnesium Aceticum, Natrum Muriaticum, Phosphorus ,Kali Muriaticum ,Calcarea Muriaticum ,Natrum Nitricum and Selenium Metallicum of various potencies 6C,12C,30C upon Spirulina. |
