Sleep is an extremely important factor for the healthy development of adolescents and young adults[1]. It is essential for their success in schools, colleges and work places. In 2011, 70.6% of college going students reported insufficient sleep ranging from 3 to 6 hours per night [1]. The broad definition of sleep deprivation is not obtaining adequate total sleep per night. It usually is termed as acquiring sleep below 6-8 hours per night for adults. However it is essential to note that not obtaining quality night sleep in spite of getting quantitative sleep is also considered as sleep deprived. Disruption of the circadian rhythm and sleeping late at night is commonly found today among the teens, young adults and adults below 40 years of age. According to studies, this disruption of quality sleep at night is certainly associated with specific pathological disorders. Sufficient lack of restorative night sleep over a cumulative period causes physical or psychiatric symptoms and affects routine performances of tasks. There exists a strong evidence for a relationship in peptic ulcer disease, coronary heart disease and complications during pregnancy
