A clinical study to evaluate the effectiveness of urticaurens in the treatment of gout , based on serum uric acid levels. Collection home page

The term ‘gout’ characterises a heterogenous group of diseases caused by hyperuricemia. In this clinical syndrome, deposition of monosodium urate crystals occurs from hyperuricemic body fluids in various regions like joints, soft tissues, connective tissues at various sites. There will be an elevation in serum uric acid levels. Main symptoms are painful, erythemateous nodositis on small joints, called ‘tophi’[9]. In health, the plasma levels of uric acid may vary from 2-7 mg/dl (0.12-0.42 mmol/L). The patient is said to be hyperuricemic, if the values go above 7mg/dl (0.42 mmol/L) in men and 6 mg/dl (0.36 mmol/L) in women[8].
