Abstract: Dyslexia is a learning disability in children involving difficulty in the areas of reading, writing and interpreting the words and symbols correctly. Dyslexia primarily involves problems in phonological and word decoding skills. In order to identify the disease using standard tools of dyslexia and to manage dyslexic school children a Homoeopathy study was conducted. Students were examined and screened from the School Heath Programs conducted in the schools of Kanniyakumari district, using Colorado Learning Disability Questionnaire, Vineland Social Maturity Scale, and Draw-a-Person Test. A sample size of 35 cases were randomly selected. Majority of patients belongs to the age group of 8 – 10 years (50%) where the prevalence of dyslexia is found to be more in males (71%). Majority of the patients belongs to middle class family (63%). The Constitutional Medicines which seems to be more effective for this condition were Lycopodium, Phosphorous, Calcarea carb, Silicea etc. About 45% of the cases showed mild improvement and 26% cases showed good improvement which indicates the efficacy of Homoeopathic treatment for the respective condition with in a short period of 6 months (period of study) and found to be more effective in the further course of treatment.
Description: It reveals the higher chance of improvement in the concerned study subjects if they follows the treatment in its full course.
