dc.description.abstract | Sinusitis refers to an inflammatory condition involving the four pairs structures surrounding the nasal cavities. Inflammation of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses is known as sinusitis or rhinosinusitis. An infection, growths in the sinuses (nasal polyps), or swelling of the sinus lining can all cause chronic sinusitis. A blocked or stuffy (congested) nose that makes it difficult to breathe through the nose, as well as pain and swelling around the eyes, cheeks, nose, or forehead, are signs and symptoms. | en_US |
