Abstract: | Grafting and budding are common horticultural techniques used to join parts from two or more plants so that they appear to grow as a single plant.[1] In grafting, the upper part (scion) of one plant grows on the root system (rootstock) of another plant; here tomato twig is taken as scion and egg plant is used as rootstock. .[2] Grafting tomato on eggplant rootstock is one way of eliminating bacterial wilt. It is a destructive disease affecting tomato plant, which causes big loses in the horticultural set up, especially organic farmers who prefer to grow vegetables in natural conditions. .[3,4] During pandemics, many of the hobbyist gardeners resolved to begin kitchen garden for their Household purpose and this is the background why this study came in the light. This technology was beneficial for people to harvest tomato even during off-seasons. |
