A Retrospective comparative study to determine the effectiveness of Arsenicum Album 200C and 0/6 in the management of Acute Bronchitis. Collection home page

Acute bronchitis is a form of lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) in which large conducting airways like primary bronchus, lobar bronchi and segmental bronchi get inflamed1. It is one of the most common paediatric illnesses and is commonly treated both in- and outpatient settings. Its prevalence ranges from 30-40% globally where as in children under five years of age its prevalence is still high which is about 50.4%.2 Viruses are responsible for more than 90 percent of acute bronchitis infections . Despite antibiotics are used unnecessarily in many countries for the treatment of acute bronchitis. Cough is the predominant symptom requiring medical advice3. Other symptoms like breathing difficulty, wheezing, fever, malaise and running nose will be associated. 4 In Homoeopathy Arsenicum album is the most frequently indicated remedy in treating acute bronchitis5. However the effective potency to administer is unclear. This retrospective study is done to compare the effectiveness of Arsenicum Album in two different potencies 200C and 0/6.
