Abstract: | Preauricular sinuses (ear pits) are common congenital abnormalities. Usually asymptomatic, they manifest as small dells adjacent to the external ear near the anterior margin of the ascending limb of the helix, most frequently on the right side. Preauricular sinuses can be either inherited or sporadic. When inherited, they show an incomplete autosomal dominant pattern with reduced penetrance and variable expression. They may be bilateral, increasing the likelihood of being inherited, in 25–50% of cases. Homoeopathy is an effctive scientifi alternative system of medicine having the capacity to alter the host response thereby maintaining equilibrium of the mind and body, along with this it restores the functional activities. Here, in this case, a girl of 18 years old who is diagnosed with Pre auricular sinus has undergone minor operation i.e supraauricular approach and then it is treated with homoeopathic medicine which is selected based upon the constitution of the patient. The medicine prescribed was Silicea 200 one dose and the case was effctively managed |
Description: | This case study is evident that Silicea 200 has a potential role in the management of post operative recovery of preauricular sinus case. |
