Psoriasis a chronic erythematosquamous dermatitis that affects about 2-3% of the population, is characterised by abnormal keratinocyte hyperproliferation, resulting in thickening of the epidermis and of the stratum corneum. (1) It is a chronic, genetically inflenced, remitting and relapsing scaly and inflmmatory skin disorder that affects 1 to 3 percent of the world’s population. It’s long -lasting running auto-immune ailment that was described by white to red shading patches of anomalous skin with the patches of flky and irritated (2). Psoriasis vulgaris accounts for 90% of the psoriasis cases and is characterised by well delineated reddish and scaly papules and plaques, typically on the elbow, knees and scalp and other cutaneous surfaces. (1) The diagnosis is made on clinical grounds, although histologic examination of a skin-biopsy specimen may be helpful. It is a common and chronic inflmmatory condition of the skin, characterised by papulo-squamous lesions with scaly and sharply demarcated red and indurated plaques, especially over extensor surfaces. As a disease of systemic inflmmation, psoriasis is associated with multiple comorbidities, including cardiovascular disease and malignancy. The diagnosis is primarily clinical and a skin biopsy is seldom required.(3)The prevalence of psoriasis ranges between 0.09% and 11.4%, making psoriasis a serious global problem.
