Abstract: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is one of the largest lifestyle disorder in women of reproductive age group especially in young girls. It is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens that are usually present females in small amounts and that results in an irregular menses, excess hair growth, acne and infertility. Women with PCOS have a hormonal imbalance and metabolism problems that may affct overall health and appearance. PCOS is heritable and closely associates with obesity and it is complicated, like, many women with normal weight also have PCOS and many women who are overweight do not have PCOS. More than half of women with PCOS have increased for type 2 diabetes mellitus due to insulin resistance. Here total 30 cases with PCOS were selected based on the prescription made by constitutional symptoms of Thuja occidentalis in centesimal potencies. Most of the patient showed overall general improvement and some showed a stable improvement in signs and symptoms gradually when assessed. This implies that Thuja occidentalis as a constitutional remedy, is an effctive choice of treatment in polycystic ovarian syndrome. So, this study signifis that homoeopathy with its holistic approach can provide a possible treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Description: Thuja occidentalis is effective in the management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome when the prescription is based on the totality of the symptoms and remedy selected as Constitutional remedy.
