Abstract: Growth is a continuous process that occurs at variable speeds from conception until the closure of the epiphysis. Proportional increase in height and weight with increasing age indicate the proper growth in children. Inadequate growth result in poor quality of life. Under nutrition is one of the major cause among several factors causing slow growth. Approximately 45% of deaths in children under the age of five are attributed to under nutrition. Children with poor nutritional status and consequent slow growth are more likely to develop metabolic problems, endocrine abnormalities, recurrent infections, and low immunity. In India despite numerous government programmes like anganwadi, mid-day meal plans, POSHAN Abhiyaan, etc., a significant number of children have low growth standards.
Description: This study shows that Calcarea Phosphorica administered in both scales i.e. 200 and 0/6 was equally effective in improving the height and weight of underweight children.
